I was very intrigued with Howard Hughes's life and got exactly what I asked for....I soaked up every word until I realized I was reading a book about a
very disturbed man which is fine but there is so much repetition about his deals ..he was a unscrupulous person...I can only handle so much of his whining.

This is the first book I had read about Mr. Hughes. A wonderful book. At times slightly more detailed than I would like.. Buts lots of great information about truly one of the most interesting characters of the 20th century.

The best Howard Hughes book you'll ever find!

This book answers the question, "How did he get to be that way?" It delves deeply into his relationship with his mother (and lack of one with his father) and follows him into adulthood. He seems a little eccentric but still within the normal range for most of his early life. He lived lavishly, but his demons caught up with him eventually. The pity is it didn't have to be that way.

I read this book when it was on the Best Sellers list. Howard Hughes was the subject of one of my papers for a psychology class and this book was my main source.

Very Helpful Guide

I have been thinking about investing for a while now, so I became very intrigued when I seen this book about investing in silver. Before reading this book I didn't realise just how valuable silver could be. The author explains things in a clearly written manner and includes many important points. I found the chapters on how to safely buy silver and how to calculate the value of physical silver especially helpful. Overall a quick and helpful guide which I recommend to anyone thinking of investing their money in something valuable.

This little book taught me what I needed to know regarding silver. How and where to get it, how to store it, what's the current market value. The chapter on comparing silver to gold was helpful to understand how silver is actually valued. If you're a beginner investor in silver you should pick this up!

About the Author

James G. Speight earned a BSc and a PhD in chemistry from the University of Manchester, England. Since 1998, he has been employed at CD&W Inc. as a consultant/author/lecturer on energy and environmental issues. Dr. Speight has more than 40 years of experience in areas associated with the properties and recovery of reservoir fluids. His work has also focused on the environmental effects and remediation technologies related to fossil fuel and synthetic fuel processing. Dr. Speight is the author of more than 400 publications, reports, and presentations and has taught more than 70 courses. He is the author and coauthor of more than 50 books and bibliographies related to fossil fuels, synthetic fuels, biofuels, fuel processing, and environmental issues. He is also the recipient of several awards.

Douglas I. Exall, P.Eng., is an engineering consultant in oil and gas production and processing technologies. He received his PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Natal in South Africa. He has published journal articles, industrial R&D reports, conference papers, and patents, and has experience teaching in most areas of chemical engineering. Dr. Exall has worked as a research manager in the oil and gas industry and research organizations in Canada, and as a professor or adjunct professor at universities in several countries. His consulting work has included reviewing options for the re-refining of lubricating oils, the available processes and technologies, and their economic viability.
